So what is generative AI?
Generative AI refers to a class of artificial intelligence algorithms and models that have the ability to generate new content or data that is similar to what it has been trained on. Unlike traditional AI models that rely on pre-defined rules and patterns, generative AI systems use complex algorithms and neural networks to learn patterns and generate new outputs that resemble the training data. These models can be applied to various domains such as image creation, writing, music composition, and more. Generative AI has shown remarkable capabilities in producing realistic and creative outputs, pushing the boundaries of what AI can achieve in terms of creativity and innovation.
So much so in fact, ChatGPT actually wrote that last paragraph itself. Talk about meta.
And according to Google's new generative AI search, "Generative AI is a type of artificial intelligence (AI) that can create new content based on existing data. Generative AI models learn the patterns and structure of their input training data and then generate new data that has similar characteristics. Generative AI can create a wide variety of data, such as images, videos, audio, text, and 3D models. Generative AI tools can reduce the money and time needed for content creation, thereby boosting productivity and profitability. The rise of generative AI also breeds innovation, paving the way for new business models and applications."
Join our experts conversation on the good and not so good in generative AI in person at Microsoft in Times Square or online and let's discuss the ramifications and the changes Generative AI will produce.
Just a side note: the featured image in the article Robot Painting Sunflowers was created by DALL·E, our helpful Generative AI from the makers of ChatGPT. The future is now.
